Apple with oat and cinnamon

I was really craving for apple with crispy crumbs today.

Since I have started training again (being so lazy in the summers) I better watch out what I put into my mouth :D. The problem is I always have this weak point - I cannot not resist dessert :(. I know I should skip sweet, sugar, cakes, etc..all the food that have to do with sugar, but I would kind of feeling sorry for myself if I don't get to eat one.

Instead of torturing myself, I released my food lust by baking something I thought its healthy and less sugar today for the first time. Maybe I was just fooling myself, but who cares, at lease my hubby was happy I didn't put my frustration or anger on him when I didn't have one dessert to eat :)

So, I put all the following together in less than half hour and bake it for about 35 minutes. Before I went to training, I took it out from the oven. When I got home, I had my dessert ready.

I guess this is enough for 4 to 6 persons if  you want to invite friends for evening tea.

The filling
4 big apples
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp sugar
1 - 11/2 teaspoon cinnamon (depend how much you like cinnamon)

The crumbs
1 dl flour
21/2 dl oat
3 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp brown sugar
100g butter

Put the oven at 180c

I tbsp butter

Put the  1 tbsp butter and sugar plus the cinnamon into a sauce pan (with low heat) and let them melt together. The put them aside.

Put all the dried ingredients - flour, oat and sugar together to make the crumbs.

Then I mixed them together with a chopstick.

I cut the butter into small cubes

Put the butter cubes into the mixed dried ingredients. Add in the brown sugar.

The I cut the apples and put them into a rectangle form.
As you can see here I have more than 4 apples because I want it more sour in taste.
You don't have to put that much.
( I wanted to use up the apples which I got from my friend, have to many left)

Pour the melted butter, sugar and cinnamon onto the apples.

Then mix them well. I want every single piece of the apples are covered with cinnamon :)

Finally spread the mixture of oat, flour and sugar on top the apples. Then put it in the middle of oven.

I took it out from the oven after 30 minutes because I was in the hurry to the gym. That's why the color of the crumbs didn't really look brownish enough as I wanted but the sweetness is just nice to the taste though.

Well, what do you think?

I didn't have  any vanilla ice-cream nor vanilla sauce at home.
So I was happy to just enjoy it as it is!
It will taste even better if you serve it with vanilla ice-cream, trust me!

Well, do you think this is quite healthy enough?
It might not look good, but it tastes good, very important! :)
I will improve its look next time :)
